How do I add a medicine or a supplement?

From You, open Medicines and supplements and tap Add a medicine or supplement. Give it a name and the dose as written on the box, choose its kind, prescription, supplement, birth control or GLP-1, and its schedule: every day, once a week or when needed. If you told Damson about your medicines when you first set it up, they are already waiting on the list, ready to tick.

With PCOS, now also called PMOS, the morning often starts with a small handful: a prescription, a supplement, sometimes both twice a day. A list you wrote once, with the doses on it, is a quiet thing to have when a clinician asks what you are taking.

When does Damson remind me?

At the times you pick. A daily medicine can have one reminder time or several, so a morning and an evening dose each get their own, and Add another time adds the next. The reminder arrives as a notification with Taken and Skip right on it, so you can answer from the lock screen and get on with your morning.

When a medicine stops, Mark as stopped keeps its history with an end date rather than losing it. And on each medicine's page, Anything you noticed? lets you mark a stomach upset, a headache or a change in appetite or mood, with its date, so it is kept beside the medicine it followed.

A medicine's page in Damson, with Save at the top. The dose reads 500 mg. Kind: prescription ticked, then supplement, birth control and GLP-1. Schedule: every day ticked, then once a week and when needed. Two reminder time rows, 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, and Add another time.

Where does the record go?

On Today, each dose you mark joins the day's timeline beside the meals you logged and the symptoms you marked, so the evening you felt off and the dose you skipped that morning are in the same place. And when an appointment comes round, the appointment page can carry the whole medicine record: each entry with its dose and kind, when it started, how many of its scheduled days it was taken on, and what you noticed, with dates.

Medicines and supplements are part of your record, and the record is free and stays free. Your entries live on your iPhone and sync to your own iCloud.

Questions about medicine reminders

Is there a medication reminder app for PCOS?

Damson, an iPhone app for PCOS, now also called PMOS, has one built in beside your meals, symptoms and cycle. Add the medicines and supplements you take, pick a reminder time, and each dose sits on Today with Taken and Skip beside it, so you stop wondering whether you took it.

Can I set a supplement reminder as well as a prescription?

Yes. Each entry has a kind: prescription, supplement, birth control or GLP-1, and a schedule of every day, once a week or when needed. A daily entry can have more than one reminder time, such as a morning and an evening dose.

What does the reminder look like?

A notification at the time you picked, saying it is time for that medicine, with Taken and Skip on it. Damson asks for permission to send notifications the first time you set a reminder.

Does my medicine record go on the appointment page?

Yes, if you include it. The page lists each medicine with its dose, kind, start date and how many scheduled days it was taken on, plus anything you noticed, with dates, so your clinician sees what actually happened.

Are medicine reminders free?

Yes, for good. Medicines and supplements are part of your record, like meals, symptoms and your cycle, and the record is free and stays free.
