Damson

Photo food diary

Every plate you logged, day by day.

Scroll back through a week of your own meals, each with its photo, its read and what you said after it, and let the plates you come back to start showing you what suits you.

Damson's Meals diary, with Read a menu and My foods at the top. Today: a 1:40 PM lunch, rice, beans and vegetables, with its photo and the mark protein and fibre. Yesterday: a 7:21 PM dinner, tofu and vegetable rice bowl, with the line last time this plate, you said settled after.

Real screens from the app, some with demo data.

Damson is on the App Store.

Free to download, and the record is free to keep. No ads, and nothing to cancel later that you did not choose.

What does each plate keep?

The photo, the date and time, which meal it was, the foods with their grams, and the read in a few plain sentences: how the carbohydrate arrived and what it came with. A few hours later your check-in joins it, so a plate in the diary is the whole of the meal, including the part you would otherwise forget: how it sat.

If you live with PCOS, now also called PMOS, you have probably been asked to keep a food diary at some point and found it a chore within a week. This one starts from a photo and fills itself in, and the days you skip are simply days you skipped.

A saved plate's page in Damson: rice, beans and vegetables, with Edit at the top, the photo, Tuesday, October 6 at 1:40 PM, a Lunch label, the read saying the order can help too, the black beans first, the white rice last, the carbohydrate and protein and fibre marks, and the line that the plate is about 300 g.

Can I see how a food has sat with me?

Yes. Tap any food on a saved plate and its own page opens: the plates you have had it on, what you most often said after them, and when you last had it. It is your own experience of that food, in two lines, and it is the kind of thing memory keeps badly. My foods, at the top of the diary, holds the foods you saved for one tap next time.

From a plate's page you can also ask about it, make a card of it to share, or open meal ideas built around what you have told Damson.

A food's page in Damson, Black beans, about 140 g. Under Your plates with Black beans it says you have had Black beans on your plates before, after it, you most often said full, and you last had Black beans on October 6.

Does Damson look back over the week?

Yes. Once a week, a short post on Today gathers the week that just passed, your plates and check-ins, with one tap to open them in the diary. It is a calm way to notice what a week was like without reading it back day by day.

Keep meal photos is a switch in Privacy, so the pictures stay with the plates only if you want them to. Everything in the diary lives on your iPhone and syncs to your own iCloud, and the diary is free, for good.

Damson's Today screen with a post from Damson covering Sep 26 to Oct 2, 2026, titled Your week: your plates and check-ins from this week are here to look back on, with a View this week's meals button. Under it, Today starts with the 1:40 PM lunch, rice, beans and vegetables.

Questions about the food diary

Is there a photo food diary for PCOS?

Damson, an iPhone app for PCOS, now also called PMOS, keeps one. Every plate you log sits in the Meals diary day by day, with its photo, its read and what you said after it, so a week of meals is there to scroll back through without a calorie in sight.

Do I have to photograph every meal?

No. A photo is the quickest way in, and a meal added by barcode, search, a typed description or a shared link lands in the same diary. Log the meals you want in your record, on the days you want to.

Are my meal photos kept?

On your phone, if you want them. Keep meal photos is a switch in Privacy, and with it on the photo stays with the plate in your diary. Either way the photo is sent once to be read and is never stored by us.

Can I see how a food has sat with me before?

Yes. Tap any food on a saved plate and its page shows your plates with that food, what you most often said after it, and when you last had it.

Is the food diary free?

Yes, for good. Logging meals, your check-ins and everything you ever recorded are free and stay free. The daily allowance applies only to reads: one read a day of a photo, a description or a link is free, and the full Damson lifts that limit.
