Write to [email protected] and you will reach the person who built Damson, not a queue. Please say which iPhone and which version of iOS you are on, and what you were doing when things went wrong. Most replies go out within two working days.

Where are my records kept?

On your phone. Damson has no account to log in to, which is also why we cannot recover anything for you if the phone is lost and syncing was off. If you want your records to survive a new phone, turn on syncing so they travel through your own iCloud.

I turned on syncing and my other iPhone is empty

Both devices need to be signed in to the same Apple ID with iCloud Drive on, and the app needs to have been opened at least once on each. Syncing is not instant; give it a minute on a good connection. If it is still empty after that, write to us.

Why does Damson only keep 42 photos?

Photographs are large, and a food diary that quietly fills your phone is a food diary you delete. Damson keeps the most recent 42 and removes the oldest when a new one arrives. The meal record itself, including the reading and your check-in, is kept whether or not its photo is still there.

I have reached the daily limit

Readings and questions are limited per day so the running costs stay predictable and the app can stay free of advertisements. The count resets overnight. Everything that happens on the device, including logging a meal by hand and reading back your own record, has no limit.

How do I cancel, or get a refund?

Purchases are Apple's, so cancelling happens in your App Store account settings and refunds are requested from Apple. We deliberately have no separate cancellation process of our own to get lost in. If Apple says no and you think that is unfair, tell us what happened.

Deleting everything

Deleting the app removes the records on the device. If syncing was on, also remove Damson's data from iCloud in your iPhone settings, under your Apple ID. We hold no account and no health records, so there is nothing else to erase. The privacy policy sets out the full picture.

Reporting something wrong in the app's content

If a claim in Damson looks incorrect, please say so and quote it. How we handle corrections is written down in our editorial policy, and a correction that is warranted is made openly rather than quietly.
