Damson

Ask

Ask about PCOS. Answers built from your record.

Ask a question in your own words and Damson answers from your own meals and days, then shows under every reply which records it was built from.

Damson's Ask a question screen. She asks what she could add to make this plate more filling next time, sent with a grilled meat plate and a saved food boundary. The reply suggests adding a healthy fat such as avocado or nuts, or legumes like lentils or chickpeas, and a line underneath says it was built from that plate and her saved food boundary. At the bottom, a note points diagnosis and other medical questions to a qualified professional, and 2 of 3 questions are left today.

What gets sent when I ask a question?

Only what you agree to. Before your first question, Damson shows you exactly what will be sent with it, and you can remove any record before it goes. The answer comes back to your phone, and the conversation stays there. Nothing is kept on our side.

Questions about PCOS, now also called PMOS, are often personal ones: why this meal, why this week, why me. A question like that deserves an answer built from your days rather than from an average, and it deserves to stay yours.

You can also start from a meal. Every saved plate has Ask about this plate, which sends your question with that plate attached, so you can ask what to add next time without describing the meal again.

Damson's Ask screen. Ready questions about your meal readings, your patterns, your week and the foods you have come back to read your own records on this phone. Below, ask a question shows 3 of 3 left today, with a note that you choose what is sent and see it exactly before it goes, and that conversations stay on this phone.

How do I know where an answer came from?

Every reply shows it. Under each answer, a line beginning Built from names the records it used, such as the plate you asked about and the food rules you saved, and you can open them from there. If an answer does not match your own experience, you can see exactly what it was working from.

At the foot of the screen, a short note points diagnosis and other medical questions to a qualified professional. When you have one of those, the appointment page can carry it to your clinician, written down alongside your own record.

Where do the facts in Damson come from?

Alongside Ask, Damson has short lessons, and every lesson shows its sources underneath it: the 2023 international guideline, the NHS and published reviews. You can follow any of them back to where it came from.

Three questions a day are free, for good. The full Damson removes the daily limit. Damson is not medical advice, and it never decides what kind of PCOS you have.

The end of a Damson lesson called what a record can hold, followed by its sources: the 2023 international evidence-based guideline for PCOS in Human Reproduction, a systematic review of PCOS and irritable bowel syndrome, the NHS page on bloating, and Monash University on FODMAPs and irritable bowel syndrome.

Questions about Ask

Is there an app where I can ask questions about PCOS?

Damson, an iPhone app for PCOS, now also called PMOS, lets you ask in your own words. Answers come from your own records, and every reply shows which records it was built from.

Where do Damson's answers come from?

From your own meals, check-ins and days. Under every reply, a Built from line names the records it used, so you can open them and check.

Are my questions stored?

Conversations stay on your phone, and nothing is kept on our side. Before your first question you see exactly what will be sent, and you can remove records before it goes.

Can Damson diagnose me or change my treatment?

No. Damson is not medical advice. For diagnosis, medicines and treatment, talk to your clinician; the appointment page can put your own record and questions on one page to bring.

How many questions can I ask for free?

Three a day, for good. The full Damson, a subscription with a free trial, removes the daily limit.

Can I ask about a specific meal?

Yes. From a saved plate, Ask about this plate sends your question with that plate, and the reply shows that it was built from it. You can open the meal again from the answer.
