Damson

TikTok recipes

Turn a TikTok recipe into a meal you can log.

Paste or share the link to a TikTok recipe and Damson reads what the post says and shows, lists the foods with estimated amounts, and waits for you to confirm them.

Damson's Read a link sheet over the Add a meal screen. It says send us a link, a TikTok, an Instagram post or a place on Google Maps, and that we read what the post says and shows. A TikTok video link is pasted in, above a note that the link is sent once for the reading and a button that says read this link.

Real screens from the app, some with demo data.

Free to download, and the record is free to keep. No ads, and nothing to cancel later that you did not choose.

Can I log a TikTok recipe?

Yes. Copy the link to the post and paste it into Read a link, or share the video from the TikTok app straight to Damson through the iPhone share sheet. Damson reads what the post says, its caption, together with what it shows, its cover image, and lists the foods with estimated amounts.

Then the list is yours. Every food carries an estimated weight you can change. Tap a card to leave a food out, which is handy when a recipe counts the water the rice cooks in. Nothing is saved until you say so.

Damson's review screen for a TikTok recipe called Rice Cooker Salmon Rice Bowls. It says every weight is an estimate and nothing is saved until you say so. Each food has an estimated weight you can change: uncooked sushi rice 140 g, water 300 g and frozen edamame 75 g, with options to search for the right food or see other foods it could be.

What does the read say about a recipe?

The same thing it says about a plate you photograph. It describes how the carbohydrate arrives, in whole form or not, with protein, fibre and fat on the same read, and it may suggest an order to eat the plate in. There is no score and no grade.

TikTok is full of recipes made for PCOS, now also called PMOS. Some of them will suit you and some will not, and no caption can tell you which. Logging the ones you actually cook, and answering one small question a few hours later, is how your own record starts to answer that.

The saved recipe in Damson, Rice Cooker Salmon Rice Bowls, marked as from your description with estimated amounts. The carbohydrate is marked not whole with protein and fibre alongside, and the read says most of it comes from the uncooked sushi rice and suggests eating everything else first. Below, it says the plate is about 680 g and carries about 12 g of fibre.

What happens to the link?

It is sent once, for the reading. A private or removed post cannot be read, and Damson says so plainly instead of guessing at a recipe it cannot see.

Reading a link uses the same daily allowance as a photo: one read a day is free, and the full Damson removes the limit. The same share sheet works from Instagram and from Google Maps, so a reel or a restaurant arrives the same way a TikTok does.

Questions about TikTok recipes

Can I log a TikTok recipe in a food diary?

Yes. In Damson, paste the link to a TikTok recipe post or share it from the TikTok app. Damson lists the foods with estimated amounts, you confirm or change each one, and the meal is saved to your record like any other.

Can I get the nutrition of a TikTok recipe?

Damson lists the foods in the recipe with estimated amounts in grams, and the saved meal gets the same read as any plate: how the carbohydrate arrives, with protein, fibre and fat. It does not count calories.

What does Damson read from a TikTok?

What the post says, its caption, and what it shows, its cover image, read together. The link is sent once for the reading.

Does it work with private TikTok videos?

No. A private or removed post cannot be read, and Damson tells you so rather than guessing.

Is reading a TikTok link free?

Free accounts get one photo or link read a day. The full Damson, a subscription with a free trial, removes the daily limit.

Do I have to keep every food the recipe lists?

No. Tap a food on the review screen to leave it out, and change any amount that does not match what you cooked. Nothing is saved until you say so.
