These terms cover the Damson app and this website. They are written to be read, so they are short. Using Damson means you accept them.

Damson is not medical advice

Damson is a companion for keeping your own record of what you eat and how it sat afterwards. It does not diagnose anything, it does not treat anything, and it does not prescribe anything. It cannot tell you whether a change is safe for you. Your clinician can, and if anything in the app conflicts with what they have told you, they are right and the app is wrong.

If you are unwell, or something new and worrying is happening, please speak to a doctor rather than to an app.

Estimates are estimates

When Damson reads a plate it produces an estimate, and it says so: the figures are prefaced with the word about, and you can correct any of them. Portion sizes, preparation, and recipes vary far more than any reading can account for. Treat the numbers as a rough note, not a measurement.

Your records are yours

You keep every right to what you write and photograph in Damson. We claim no ownership of it and, as the privacy policy explains, we do not hold a copy of it.

What you agree to do

• Use Damson for yourself, not to make decisions for someone else.
• Do not try to break, overload, or work around the service, including the daily limits that keep it affordable for everyone.
• Do not copy the app, its content, or its citations for republication elsewhere without asking.

Paying for Damson

Damson is a paid app. Purchases and any subscription are handled by Apple under Apple's terms, and you manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings rather than with us. Refunds are Apple's to give, and Apple's policy applies. If something has gone wrong, write to us anyway and we will help you sort it out.

Availability

We will keep the service running as well as we can, but we cannot promise it is never interrupted. Features that depend on a server, such as reading a plate, need a connection. Your own records stay readable on the device regardless.

Limits of our liability

Damson is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law gives you and does not allow us to exclude. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app or this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending it

You can stop using Damson at any time by deleting the app, which also deletes your records from the device. We may suspend access that is damaging the service or other people's use of it.

Law, and getting in touch

Damson is made by GPT Genius Lab, LLC, and these terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, United States, without limiting any consumer rights the law of your own country gives you. Questions about them go to [email protected].
